Chelsea vs Real Madrid in the Champions League

Chelsea vs Real Madrid lineup: with Premier League fun all around (for now), Chelsea itself can focus on Tuesday's Champions League semi-final against Real Madrid.

Supported by the 1-0 victory over West Ham last time, Chelsea come into this feeling confident, but a victory over a Real Madrid team that has not lost a game since January will be one of the most difficult tests for Thomas Tuchel so far.

Here's how the president should prepare.

1. Goalkeeper and defenders

Edward Mendy (GK) – Kepa had some chances, but Mendy is still number one and will start a match of this magnitude.

Cesar Azpilicueta (CB) – deployed as a left-back the last time, Azpilicueta can return to the central role in which he excelled under Tuchel.

Thiago Silva (CB) - Silva has returned to the team after some injury and suspension fun, and his experience could be vital in dealing with Karim Benzema.

Andreas Christensen (CB) – perhaps the best Chelsea defender under Tuchel The Dane has been unreal over the past few months and can bring high confidence in this one.

2. Midfielders

Reece James-resting for the West Ham win, James will need all the energy he can find if he is to deal with Vinicius Jr.

Jorginho (CM) – with Mateo Kovacevic still unavailable, there will be no rest for Jorginho. Fortunately, he's playing incredibly well and will hopefully keep that momentum going.

N'golo Kante – CM) - forcing Luka Modric and Toni Kroos to make mistakes is never easy, but if anyone can do it, it's Kante.

Ben Chilwell (LM) – one of the best Chelsea players of recent weeks, Chilwell deserves to keep his place in the starting lineup. He was one of the few players who actually looked like he wanted to create a goal.

Mason Mount (am) — the first name on the team sheet and it's not even close. The mountain has been formidable for Chelsea all season, and only grows in importance.

Timo Werner (AM) – he may not have reached the peak of his days in Leipzig, but Chelsea scores more goals with Werner on the field than without him.

- Resting against West Ham, Havertz will hope to return with a bang for this one. The German is flashing glimpses of his sky-high potential and can take things to a new level if he can shine against Real Madrid.

The expected line-up of the English club Chelsea is as follows :

In goalkeeping: Edward Mendy

Defensive line: Cesar Azpilicueta – Thiago Silva –Andreas Christensen - Reece James

In midfield: Timo Werner– Mason Mount –Ben Chilwell –n'golo Kante-Jorginho

Offensive line: Kai Havertz
